AMI Semiconductor

AMI Semiconductor

AMI Semiconductor designs and manufactures application specific integrated circuits, or ASICs, through three segments: mixed signal ASICs, foundry services, and digital ASICs. The mixed signal ASICs segment designs and manufactures system level mixed signal ASICs, which combine analog and digital functions on a single chip. These are used in sensors, high voltage outputs, and wireless or radio frequency communication. AMI’s products are used in a wide variety of applications, including automotive, medical, industrial, military/aerospace, communications, computing, and consumer products.

In a blockbuster deal, On Semiconductor Corp. has acquired AMIS Holdings Inc., parent company of AMI Semiconductor, for approximately $915 million in stock on 12/13/2007.
